History of Site
Adelaide Brighton Cement is part of Adelaide Brighton Limited, a leading integrated construction Group of Companies, with a history in South Australia dating back to 1882.
The Birkenhead Plant was established in 1913, using limestone from the Yorke Peninsula, which was transported across the gulf by steamboat, and clay from the Port River.
Ongoing investment in the plant, including numerous upgrades, has put our plant in the top tier as the most energy efficient plant in Australia.
